Fedya married Fanyia Popoff in Veregin Saskatchewan. They had six children. Mary born in 1912, Polly born in 1915, Helen born in 1917, Laura born 1922, Tena born in 1927 and Fred born in 1933.
He was interested in horses and was a shoemaker. From leather he made shoes for men, women and children. He spoke both the Azeri and Tatar languages.
