Misha married Helen Chernoff and they raised three sons: Mike born in 1911, George born in 1914 and Paul born in 1920.
While at Khutor, Misha was in charge of providing transportation for P. V. Verigin. Misha left the community to farm on his own in 1938, then sold his farm and moved to Grand Forks in 1942.
